FATAL ACCIDENT
A German Musician Thrown by a Horse and Killed.
Andreas Bauer, a German musician, met his death suddenly last night under the
following circumstances: After playing at Mayer's Garden he borrowed a pony to take
a ride; going east on Elm Street as he was crossing Crowdus Street, his horse threw
him, his head striking the pavement. Parties who came up the next moment found him
in an unconscious state and the police patrol wagon was at once summoned to remove
him to the city hospital, but he died before getting there. An autopsy showed that death
had resulted from a fracture of the skull. The deceased was 35 years old and
unmarried. He will be buried this afternoon by the Sons of Hermann, of which order
he was a member. ]DGS Journal 199S
