When I accepted the Republi-
can nomination for Commis-
sioner of Precinct No. 1, it was
my intention to run only in Vot-
ing Precincts 3 and 5, in keep-
ing with the proposed new Com-
missioner Precinct asked for in
the redistricting suit.

people who expressed them-
selves favorably, that I decided
to stay in the race. I doubt that
any candidate to this office had
ever moved to much among the
voters as I did. Naturally, I
am disappointed at the outcome
- certainly because I did not
win, but, even more depressing,
because of the broken promis-
es, and the reason that lies be-

I sincerely thank each and
every one of you who kept faith
with me. And I congratulate
my opponent for having the pow-

ly without leaving the comforts
of his parlor.
Always your servant,
