Right Name,
Wrong Man
AUSTIN, Tex. -A "hu-
man error" resulted in the list-
ing of Dr. Francisco Rodriguez
of Livingston as one of 28 Texas
doctors who received more than
$100,000 in Medicaid payments
last year, says state welfare
commissioner Raymond
Vowell.
Vowell noted in a statement
Tuesday that the names were
made public by the U.S. De-
partment of Health, Education
and Welfare, based on informa-
tion sent to Washington by his
office.
"Dr. Rodriguez' name ap-
peared on the list because of
human error in comparing
names and addresses from a
computer printout," said Vow-
ell.
Vowell said the Livingston
doctor was confused with Dr.
Francisco J. Rodriguez, 311
Camden, San Antonio, who did
receive more than $100,000 in
Medicaid payments.
Vowell said he will notify
HEW of the error and will send
a letter of apology to Dr. Rodri-
guez of Livingston.
