The Treasurer, Mrs. John

and reported to the Circle
that the monthly donation

Tamps. Mexico had been
made. Mrs. Shuford
suggested that the Ruth
Circle plan a FIELD TRIP
to Camargo in April. The
idea was met with en-
thusiasm and plans for the
field trip will be made at the
next meeting.
The Ruth Circle voted to
take up the project to re-
model and to re-furnish the
Sunday School Nursery in
the Education Building. Mrs.
Boone La Grange will be
chairman of this project.
Ms. Adela Gutierrez was
in charge of the Program.
She presented an out-
standing program on the
Modern Good Samaritan
Parable, which happens to
be a true story. The story
indicates that human nature
hasn't changed much in the
past 200 years.
Ms. Gutierrez told the true
story of a man driving his
big truck down an interstate
highway. The truck collided
with another vehicle,
turned over, and burst into
flames. A lot of cars on the
interstate stopped. People
lined the highway to watch
the excitement. They saw
the truck driver lying half
conscious, unable to move
near the cab of the burning
truck, but no one in the crowd
would risk going to the truck
driver's aid. They later
explained to the police that
they were afraid that the
truck would explode. Many
said that they didn't want to
get involved. Others said
that they didn't have time to
get into some court
inquiries, so they all
remained on the sidelines as
spectators and kept a safe
distance away and let the
truck driver lie there
helpless.

accident, stopped and saw

to the Truck driver and
dragged him away from the
burning truck. Soon an am-
bulance came, and the
woman and the truck driver
were treated for severe
burns at the Hospital. In
Jesus' Parable it was a
foreigner (the good
Samaritan), who came to the
assistance of a man who had
been beaten up and robbed
on the highway after two of
the victim's countrymen had
hastened by in fear that they
too would be beaten and
robbed.
Ms. Gutierrez closed her
program by telling us that
we all must go down lifes
highways and each road
leads to different ex-
periences. For instance,
Paul became a Christan on
the road to Damascus. For
him it was a road of con-
version. Other travelers go
down the highway together.
Jesus walked on the road
of Cavalry where He was
crucified on the cross. The
Cavalry road was one of
suffering and sacrifice. The
good Samaritan's highways
area road of service, and in
conclusion, Ms. Gutierrez
said that Christianity is a
daily walk down various
highways, and whatever
road we find ourselves
traveling, our ultimate
destiny and purpose is to
become more like Jesus and
to please God.
