Nutrition plays a vital role in
pregnancy, reports the
March of Dimes. One main
reason why many babies are
born too soon or too small is
because their mothers eat
Jfcxjorly or unwisely while
pregnant.
The March of Dimes
emphasizes the benefits of
prenatal care. Statistics
show that low birthweight, a
birth defect, and infant
death rates are much higher
for mothers who have no
prenatal care.
4Birth defects strike one of
every twelve children born,
reports the March of Dimes.
The various types of
physical or mental damage
can be caused by heredity,
environment, or interaction
between the tv/n.
