Queen's Contest Features 20 Contestants

The Starr Grande 4-H Council is
well underway with plans for this
year's County Fair Queen's Contest
Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Rio Grande
City High School auditorium.
Herbie Villarreal is heading all
the committees this year and has
submitted a list of 20 participants.
The master of ceremonies will be
Willie Rodriguez of KGBT. Channel
4. in Harlingen. Willie is a former
Starr County 4-H'er and the son of
Mr and Mrs. Lazaro Rodriguez
Entertainment at this year's
Queen's contest will be provided by
the Falconetts high steppers from
Zapata High School. Ismael Garza,
a, noted local artist, and various
assistants are providing the art
"work and props for this year's
stage.
The following young ladies will
be competing for this year's
coveted title of County Fair Queen:
Klva Rodriguez, the 18-vear-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fablo
Rodriguez, and she is being
sponsored by the Future Farmers
of America of San Isidro Dina
Lynn Garza, the 16-vear-old daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Garza,
is sponsored by the Starr County
4-11 Council
Sandra Yvonne Leal, the
45-year-old daughter ol Mr and
Mrs Cesar G. Leal, is sponsored
l>\ Diaz Enterprises. Olivia Garza,
the 15-year-old daughter of Mrs.
