By: CARL PAUL
(Forecast for the week of
Mar.15- Mar.21, 1993)
ARIES:(\1arch 20-Aprll 19):
Don't give problems that develop at
work early in the week a chance to
fester, address them immediately and
in depth. Quick fix solutions simply
won't hold up: you've got to get your
hands dirty! After the 18th, sexual
issues become a hot topic of
conversation. You may choose to
discuss intimate matters with your
lover, but don't be another cog in the
rumor mill at work.
TALRUS(Aprll 20-May 20):
You exude confidence as the week
begins, causing others to turn to you
for leadership and direction. Assume
this responsibility with humility and
a steady hand, as an arrogant attitude
will create lasting resentment among
your peers! Seek a balance between
emotion and reason. After the 19th,
an old lover may express the desire
for another chance and you must
objectively ask yourself if this is
really what you want.
GEMINI (May 21-June
2 0): Extremely focused and
Iself-motivatcd, those who come in
contact with you early this week are
inspired by your drive and intesnity
of purpose. A disagreement with a
loved one over finances could become
a distraction after the 18th. Don't
waste needless energy arguing a moot
point. Friends inject humor into the
goings on this weekend, helping you
relax and recharge your batteries.
CANCER(June 21-July
22):Enhanced mental clarity makes
the beginning of the week a good
time to examine your employment
situation and review the options
available to you. If you are unsatisfied
and would like a change of pace, there
is no time like the present! The
pessimistic attitude of a collegue or
loved one could make you anxious
after the 18th. Don't let someone
else's apprehension cause you to
doubt yourself!
LEO(July 23-Aug. 22): You are
very quick on your feet as the week
begins, as snap decisions prove to
have lasting value. Take the initiative
in all areas of you rlife and feel free to
improvise. A temporary financial
setback could make things appear
worse than they really are as the week
progresses, but the situation
improves dramatically by the
weekend, inspiring you to begin new!
V IRGO( Aug. 23-Sept. 22):
Your laid-back manner conceals a vast
internal reservoir of strength and
competitiveness, making vou very
persuasive and an imposing
adversary, take the opportunity to
build alliances that can help you
achieve your ambitions in the near
future! An unexpected obstacle to your
plans could crop up after the 18th,
setting off an explosive display of
anger. Tro to take things in stride.
LIBRA(Sept. 23-Oct.
23): Brilliant insights into the true
motivations of those around you
makes you a force to be reckoned with
early in the week! You can be
extremely subtle and manipulative
yourself during this aspect. A period
of personal development begins after
the 19th, as recent events cause you
to look inward for answers. You may
find a new and fruitful direction as a
result!
SCORPIO(Oct. 23-Nov. 21): A
soothing influence provides the
opportunity to smooth over
opposition to your plans early this
week, allowing you to proceed
without a hitch. Unresolved events
from the past may crop up as the week
progresses, forcing you to deal with
them once and for all! While the
situation may be emotionally
unsettling, you have the chance to
finally put these issues to rest.
SAGITTARILS(Nov.22-Dec.
21): Knowledge is power, and the
inside information that comes your
way at the advent of the week could
provide you with an invaluable edge
over your competition! A disruptive
aspect that has been active in your
chart since May gives one final push
before fading away after the 18th, so
expect a turbulent ride, particularly
where children are concerned.
CAPRICORN (Dec.22-J an.19):
The subtlety of your approach to
others at the advent of the week is
matched only by your uncanny ability
to win their hearts and minds with
your words! Sound judgment and a
dose fo charm saves the day when
you're faced with difficult
circumstances. After such rousing
success, a few setbacks are to be
expected later in the week, but
nothing that can't be overcome in
short order.
AQl!ARIUS(Jan.20-Feb.lH):
Enhanced personal magnetism
attracts others to you like moths to a
flame early this week, and a womffcrful
new romance could develop from a
simple glance! Intimate relationships
are radiant with hope for the future and
pure erotic potential throughout the
week! Don't lose your cool if a family
member makes a decision that effects
you without getting your approval:
talk it over.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 19):
Summon all you inner strength at the
beginning of the week to break free
from needless anxieties and
sel f imposed limitations! Images that
emerge from your unconscious mind
after the 18th are fraught with
meaning, so don't be so quick to
dismiss them. Lasting bonds of
loyalty and trust can be built this
weekend in loving relationships and
money matters look up as well!

earned a Grand in Pencil-Graphite
and Reserve in Prisma Colors;
Patricia Garcia who took Reserve in

in Pen and Ink - and Adalberto
Lozano - Grand in Oil.
Art Instructors Monicn 'oillctte
and Edna Lara joined in the hymn
of praise to their students for the
excellent work they did to prepare
for the Fair. Like the FFA and
Home Economics staff, the Art
teachers are hard at work preparing
for next year's contests.
Other things reinforced this
feeling of "Gladiator Pride" that we
all experienced. Especially
impressive were the number of
entries in the parade that was held
in R io Grande City and the fact that
the top float was the "Little Miss
Roma" entry.
Likewise, I was happy to see so
many students participating in the
Roma Bands - two Jr. High Bands
and the High School. Band
members showed a lot of spirit and
enthusiasm.
It was a great weekend for the
western part of the County. I
especially felt great for the students
and teachers that worked so hard to
get where they wanted.
There were many, many more
that did not quite reach their goals
or their expectations. However,
they all participated with the same
gusto and the same intense feeling
of wanting to do their best.
Congratulations to all Roma
students and teachers for a job
exceptionally well done.
