ticipated in capture of Satellite and Reliawe, August 23, 1863; promoted
for gallant and meritorious conduct. C. S. B. Rcnond, James River
Squadron, 1863-64. C. S. S. Neuse, 1864. Participated in capture of
U. S. S. Underwriter, February 2, 1864.

Captured on board the American steamer Salvador, November 10, 1864.
Tried by a military commission for piracy and sentenced to life imprison-
