Mr. Kyle is reappointed to the Board for a six-year term to expire on August 31,
1992. The appointment is made pursuant to Title 1 10B, Subsection 25.002,
V.A.T.S.

JOINT SESSION
The President announced the time had arrived for the Joint Session as provided
for by S.C.R. I.
MOTION TO RECESS AND ADJOURN
On motion of Senator Brooks, the Senate at 11:14 a.m. agreed that upon
completion of the Joint Session today it would recess until 12:00 noon tomorrow
when it would meet in the Hall of the House of Representatives for the Joint Session
as provided for by S.C.R. 2 to hear an address by Congressman Phil Gramm. The
Senate further agreed that upon completion of that Joint Session it would adjourn
until 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 1987.
JOINT SESSION
(To hear address of Governor Mark White)
The President of the Senate and the Senators present, escorted by the Secretary
of the Senate and the Sergeant-at-Arms, proceeded to the Hall of the House of
Representatives at 12:00 noon to hear the address of the Honorable Mark White,
Governor of Texas, pursuant to the provisions of S.C.R. 1.
The President was announced and, on invitation of the Speaker, occupied a
seat on the Speaker's Rostrum.
The Senators were announced and were admitted and escorted to seats
prepared for them along the aisle.
The Honorable Mark White, Governor of the State of Texas, was announced
by the Doorkeeper of the House.
The Governor and his party was escorted to the Speaker's Rostrum by Senators
Blake. Montford, Jones. Armbrister and Johnson on the part of the Senate and
Representatives Criss, Oakley, Larry, Seidlits, Watkins, Guerrero, Finnell, Morales,
Betts, Telford, Lucio and Willis on the part of the House.
The President called the Senate to order and announced a quorum of the
Senate present.
The Honorable Gib Lewis, Speaker of the House of Representatives, called the
House to order, stated the purpose of the Joint Session and announced a quorum
of the House present.
The Speaker then introduced the President who introduced His Excellency
Mark White, Governor of Texas, to the Joint Session.
Following Governor White's address, Speaker Lewis introduced Mrs. Linda
Gale White and the White children, Wells, Andy and Elizabeth.
