amend section 14 of an act to redistrict the
State into judicial districts, and fix the terms
for holding courts therein, and to provide for
the election of judges and district attornety
in saiid districts at tlie next general election,
to Ixb held on the first Tuesday after the
firt alMollay in November, 1884, approved
April 9, 18S3; to create the Fortieth Judicial
districtt of the State of Texas, fix thle titne
for holding court therein, and provide for the
aprointlnent of a district judge for said district,
approved Marchl 27, 1885; to create
th!e Flory. fourth .Judicial District of the
State of Texas, fix tlei times for holding
court therein, and to provide for tlhe appointimnt
of a district judge for said district.

county lying north of the following line, viz.:
beginning at the point on the east boundary
line of suidt county, where tlhe snme is interc:ttxdi

in said city; thence in a western direction,
directly through tle center of said courthouse
to the Trinity river; thence up said
river to the point where the same is crossed
by said railroad; thence in a western direction
witl the center of the track of said railroad
to the point where the same crosses the
western boundary line of said county, shall
constitute the Fourteenth Judicial District;
and the district court shall be begun and
held therein as follows: On the second AMondays
in March, Miay, September and December,
and may continue in session until the
business is disposed of.
SEo. 2.-All that part of said county of
Dallas lying south of the line as defined
in the foregoing section of this act, shall
constitute the Forty-fourth Judicial District,
and the district courts shall be begun and
held therein as follows: On the first Mondays
in January, April, June and October,
and mnay continue in session until tlie business
is disposed of.
SEc. 3. That said district courts of the Fourteenth
and Forty-fourth Judicial Districts,
shall have concurrent jurisdiction throughout
tile limits of said Dallas county, of all matters
civil and criminal, of which jurisdiction
is given to the district court by the constitution
and laws of the State; and the grand and
petit juries for said courts respectively shall
bo selected and drawn from the body of the
county:
lProvided, that the judge of the Fourteenth
Judicial District slall cause a grand jury to
Io drawn for, and organized at tle Marchll and
Septenbor terms of said court, and the judge
