- Content Description: An Entry in Weslaco's annual "Birthday Party" fashion show. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce to highlight the fruit and vegetables grown in the Rio Grande Valley, area citizens created and modeled clothing made from local fruit, vegetables, and flowers. Dress of grapefruit peel with green pepper trim. Dress was worn over a petticoat of green peppers made of simulate taffeta. Earrings, combs and evening purse were made from grapefruit seed. sprinkled w/stardust and her sandals were covered w/ inner peel of grapefruit and adorned w/ pepper seeds.
