Mrs. H. D. Power
After an illuess of about
two weeks, Mrs. H. D. Power
died at her home, three miles
east of Alto, last Sunday
morning, of pnemuonia, and
her remains were interred
in Palestine church cemetery
Monday morning at 10 o'clock
Mrs. Power was one of the
most popular ladies in the
commuunity in which she
lived, and her death is quite a
blow to her many frieuds aud
acquaintances.
This was a woman of no-
ble attributes of charactcr.
Her sweet face made sunshine
in a shady place. If stran-
gers felt the charm of her
rare courtesy aud joyous, sun-
ny temperament, how much
more so the members of her
own household, upou whom
she lavished all the sweet ear-
nestness and careful culture
of both her mind and nature.
Strong and potent was the in-
fluence of this loving heart
which gave of its gifts so gen-
erously. The spirit of her
fove was not weakness but
strength. Gently, almost un-
consciously, it coerced those
coming in contact with it,
to strive for if not to attain
the realization of her high
ideal.
She leaves a devoted hus-
band, sons, daughters and oth-
er realtives, and a large cir-
cle of friends aud acauain-
tauces to whom the sympathy
of all is extended.
