^ine A Burton May 14 1825
Dear Sir
I wrote to you on the 11^ of Feb^ last since than
we have recieved a letter from Brown informing us his
safe arrival with you which gave us much pleasure. Emily wrote
to him a few weeks ago. We have been expecting letters from
you for some time and the only reason we can figure for not
hearing from you is the remoteness of your situation and want
of opertunities to write. In my last I stated to you ny sit-
uation and circumstances and asked your advice respecting our
moving to your Colony which I expect you will give us very
candidly. I now at tne request of your Sister trouble you on
another subject. A short time since there was a Co^ Robert C.
Oden Attor^ at law (from Little Rock Ark^ Ter?) here who was
very nighly recommended by Judge Scott Co^ Oden says that he
is in partnership with iir* Robt Critend^fn in the practice of
Law at Little Rock. While here he made inquiery respecting MF
James Bryans Interest in the Little Rock Property he says that
Chester Ashly has the management of that property in his hands
and that he is not only living well i>n it but making a Fortune
out of it he also says that if there can be anything like a
just claim produced in favour of Bryans Heirs that the pro-
perty Cctn be secured to tnem. Oden appeared very anxious to
*SgMtr,
get tne business into his hands and gives every .apafance that
the property could be secured for the children from every in-
formation I can e<et Ashly is using every means in his power
