Head of bay prairie Oct the 6th. 1832 Mr Colonel Stephen F Austin Dr Sire I wish you to let me know wether you will let me have a quarter league of land Bying on the weat side of the Colorado river, land which Ralph Wright has formerly claimed he ha% left this Country and I understand his claim is forfeited if you are inclined to let me have the land you will please write to me by the first opportunity and if not I wish you to let me know wether you will let me have land in your upper Colony. I have been informed you give a single man a hulf league of land in the upper Colony if that be the fact I want to know it.
