The Bankhead Highway, the Nation's greatest motorway, runs
through Mineral Wells. The scenery along this great highway will
add greatly to the pleasure of the trip, and the automobile will be a
constant source of pleasure during the stay at the resort. Mineral
Wells has a large and beautiful Automobile Tourists' Park, with
every modern convenience, including lights, water, etc., and its
use is free to visitors. The scenery of Palo Pinto County is well
worth seeing, the great oil fields of West Texas are within two hours'
ride, and the great gas fields are but four miles out. Good roads generally
prevail.
The highways that lead to Mineral Wells-the railroads and the
highroads-are roads that lead to health, and they are traveled not
only by invalids, but by people who want to keep from becoming
incapacitated as well.
Hotel Charges cAre Reasonable
A special feature that recommends Mineral Wells to the health
seeker or tourist, is the reasonableness of the hotel rates. There is
no profiteering at Mineral Wells, and a committee from the Chamber
of Commerce sees that all charges are kept at a minimum and in
accordance with character of accommodations.
Mineral Wells has more than one hundred hotels with over 6,000
rooms available for the entertainment of guests. They range from
the modern, centrally located metropolitan hostelry to the quiet
family boarding house where home cooking and Southern hospitality
are the order of the day.
In the many hotels and boarding houses of this Resort City, you can
have a place suited to your moods and ability to pay.
Apartments are easily obtained at reasonable rates.
Many cafes and restaurants are operated the year around with menu
charges that are far below those of the larger cities, and with a
service that caters to the desires of all, regardless of state of bodily
vigor.
In fact, the many institutions affecting your life at Mineral Wells,
such as drinking pavilions, bath houses, boarding houses, hotels and
restaurants, have been coordinated in keeping with the one big idea:
That your stay at Mineral Wells will be everything that you wish
and expect.
