Hand-written text on the back of the photograph cannot be read with certainty, but it seems to state, "Danevang Centennial 1894-1994. Danish Wreath Cake. We closed the weekend by sharing the cakes outside with a 'Farewell Blessing'".

A Kranse-Kage Cake, also known as a Kransekake cake, is a type of Danish wedding cake used in the observance of anniversaries among the Danish people. When the top tier is removed, a bottle of wine is discovered inside for the couple.
