DATES
The exhibition will be held from Sunday, May 1, through Sunday, May 29... Last day for receiving
entries will be Saturday, April 16... Awards will be presented to artists on the opening Sunday,
May 1, at 3:30.
ELIGIBILITY
Artists who maintain residence in Dallas County are eligible and must have actually resided in the County
at least three of the twelve months previous to the exhibition date... Works submitted must not have
been exhibited previously in a jury exhibition at the Museum... All works must be original in design
and execution.
CLASSIFICATIONS
Eligible classifications of work are: oil and tempera painting; watercolor, gouache, and pastel; drawings
and prints in any medium; sculpture; and crafts including ceramics, textiles, wood, plastic, or metal
work, etc.
PHOTOGRAPHY SECTION
This year there will be a special section of photography, which will have its own designated awards.
JUNIOR SECTION
There will be a special junior section for those under 18 years of age. Works in this section will have
designated awards and will be judged by the regular jury, but with specific consideration.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Artists may submit as many as four entries... photographs, prints, and drawings must be mounted on
16" x 20", 18" x 22", or 20" x 24" mats. Works matted larger than these sizes must be framed, with
glass... Oil paintings must be framed. Watercolors and pastels must be framed, with glass... Photo-
graphs must be suitably mounted or matted. All accepted entries must remain on display for the duration
of the exhibit.
JURY OF SELECTION AND AWARDS
The jury will be announced as soon as the poll of Dallas artists has been tallied and the elected jury
members have been invited.
AWARDS AND PURCHASES
All prizes will be cash awards decided by the jury according to merit. Purchase prizes will not be made
as first awards, but may be used for the acquisition, during the run of the show, of such entries as in
the opinion of the Museum Board would be in the best interest of its collections. Subject to the jury's
decision, awards will be designated for the following sections: paintings, prints and drawings, sculpture,
crafts, and photography.
INSURANCE
Insurance should be carried where desired by the exhibitors. No insurance will be carried by the
Museum, but all possible care will be used in handling objects. No responsibility will be accepted by
the Museum for loss or damage, and all works will be received with this understanding.
SALES
Since the object of this exhibition is to aid in the development of creative art, every effort will be
made to promote sales, and no commission will be charged.
