The health of our community
is good at present.
Everybody feels greatly bene-
fited by the little shower of rain
which fell Monday evening.
There are a few people of this
p'a^e attending the protracted
meeting at Salado, conducted by
Brother Carter of Whiteright.
Mr. Irwen Russle, Mr. Jeff
and Bob Goodnight and Mr. J. B.
Bonden and Willie Baker, visited
Belton Monday.
Mrs. Charley Greist and Mrs.
Ervin Russle visited Mrs. Emit
Allamon, Monday.
Miss Bess Mosley who has
been visiting her brother, Mr. E.
H. Mosley, returned to her home
in Coryell County last Thursday.
Bill Mosley went home with
his Aunt for a few days visit.
Mr. Joe Huey's family of Prai-
rie Valley visited liis brother,
Tom Huey's family Sunday.
Leonard Dooley spent last
week at J. B. Bowden.
Anderson Boyls was seen in
our midst Sunday as usual.

Forrest visited Miss Georgie
Chaffin Sunday.
Miss Rebecca King spent one
night last week with her cousin
Miss Davis.
Mrs. Queenis Boyls visited at
her mother, Mrs. B. V. Russell's
one day last week.
Lenton Archer of Praire Val-
ley called at Mr. R. A. Forrest's
Sunday atternoon, I guess he
wanted to hear that new piano?.
Mr. J. B. Cawthon went to
Belton last Saturday.

Mill vicinity brought his little
service Sunday morning.
Mack and Marvin Sherrod of
Elm Grove were visiting friends
in our Dart of the world Sunday.
Ray Forrest, and sister. Miss
Essie attended the the Baptist
meeting at Hackberry a night or
too last week.

lar call over towards Gooseneck
Sunday.
We are glad indeed to say that
Mr. B. V. Russell's condition is
very much improved at this
writeing, and hopes are enter-
tained for a speedy recovery.
Mr. George Forrest leaves the
last of this week for Haskell Co.
where he will reside inthefuture,
his family preceded him a few
days; we are always sorry to lose
old friends, but I am afraid that
they won't stay out west long,
before they will conclude that
there's noplace like Bell Co., and
we'll soon see them again.
F. E. Fuller §pent a few days
at Prairie Dell last week.
Ray Forrest and sister, Miss
Essie sp'^nt a while at Mr. Pow-
er's last Thursday.
Mrs. E. E. Griffith of Amity
spent Sunday and Monday with
relatives in our community.
One of the Mooreville boys
created quite a sensation among
some of the girls Sunday, by
sporting a new rubber tire.
Mitt Walden says he is going
to get in that rubber tire of his,
some Sunday and is going to
Brookhaven, you'd better watch
out, Miss Ollie.
Well, I declare I want to go to
sleep, and then any way, I am so
very bashful" I can't write
much by myself, you know I'll
bring "Timid Maid" with me

What in the world is the mat-
ter with "Sunny and Buddy" of
Belle Plains, they taust be very
busy these days.
I think the contest will be real
interesing, especify when the
one for whom w£ are work'ng
has the largest nulnber of votes.
There was a large auto passed
through our community last
week, say boys they are far a-
head of rubber tire buggies, why
don't you buy one of them?.
Mr. Henry Moore of Gates-
ville has been visiting his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Moore,
greater part of last/week.

Travis White who has been at
work since Christmas for Jno.
Pittman Sr., has returned to his
home near Killeen.
Miss Mollie Corn well who for
several days has been visiting
her brother and sister, Mr. and
Mx-s. Jno. Cornwell left Sunday
for her home in Tennessee.
W. N. Hex-ring and family are
spending a few weeks in Concho
county with his mother, M!rs.
Dillard.
Why should we spend time and
money going to Temple races
when we have them right at
home? Only a few days ago
Miss Eva and Miss Lillian Stokes
had a half mile race with a Jer-
sey cox. They ran over cotton
patches, stubble and fences in
their rare race and were stop-
ped only when Mr. Stokes wi ;h a
hammer in his hand confronted
the cow in open combat.

seriously affect the cotton crop.

the week among friends at Ben-

part of the state has been spend-
ing a few days with relatives
near this place.

Abner Phillips of Post Oak,
passed through our city Satur-
day on his way to Belton, to take
the cars for Georgia, where he
intends to make an extended
visit to relatives and friends.

time of writing our news, and as
there is no regular correspond-
ents from this large (?) place to
the Democrat, I will send in the
happenings.

that place they call Mooreville?,

Miss Kate Burgess visited re-
latives in Holland Saturday and
Sunday.
Mr. Allie Shannon attended
preaching Sunday night.

Democrat, we read where some
fellow has a new buggy, Mr.
Alyin Griffin of this community
came out Sunday morning in a
new "rubber tire'" say Alvin,
why did you get that new bug-
gy, when you had such a good
old one?.

land Monday, as first bale at 10.-
65, Mr. Strange was given a
$25 premium.
Mr. Little, a prominent mer-
chant of Troy, was in our town
Saturday.
Quite a number of our nrople
attended the baptizing at Three
Forks Sunday evening.
Claud Holland left Monday for
Graham where he will spend a
few days with his father-in-law

Everybody's attention is at-
tracted to the beautiful lawn
of J. M. Phillips is keeping since
he received his new lawn mow-
er. He says that the only ob-
'ection he has to it, is, that it
wont run itself. Kid.

a new dwelling house on his place
which will be occupied by Edgar Ha-

open up a millinery shop.
Messrs. Ellis Prater and Hugh
