Terrence McNally adapted his Tony-winning
Broadway play about the lives and loves of a group
of gay friends who spend the summer at a large,
secluded 19th-century home in upstate New York.

expatriate Briton, a man in advanced stages of
AIDS and another who is dealing with his own

The Wedding Banquet. Wai lives in New York
with his partner Simon. His Taiwanese parents,
unaware that he's gay, expect a marriage and grand-
children. Meanwhile, a tenant in a building owned
by Wai, has to find a way to obtain a green card or
be deported. A marriage of convenience seems to be
a good idea until well until Wai's parents arrive to

German police, their relationship strengthened over
the years as a result of a lengthy correspondence.
This tragicomic love story and its happy outcome
also captures a moving portrait of an aging gay cou-

Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art
