The past week has been filled
with sorrow and grief as our en-
emy, death, has visited us many
times. It has been revealed that
death is no -respector of persona.
It visits both the young and . old.
We sHouid heed"the wdrning"™or
the prophets of old? tfhd prepare to
meet our God. Yes, today ia the
i.V .of salvation. ;. ..
We invite you to Be with ub on
Sunday morning and study this
subject, "The Spirit of Christ."
(Rom. 8-9). Our subject for the
night service is, "Walking By
Faith." (2 Cor. 5:7). We believe
that it is impossible to please God
without faith,_ but as the subject
suggests, there must be- some ac-
tion, in our >faith, or it is a >dead
j'faith. Come be with us at these
services.

The Santa Fe has received de-
livery of six high-speed passenger
locomotives, one streamlined,
from the Baldwin Locomotive
Works, for passenger service be-
tween Chicago, and La Junta, Co-
lorado. On a recent test run one
of these engines hauled the San-
ta F^r'fast mail train from Los
Angeles to Chicago, 2,227 ,miles.
The first time a steam engine
has been operated the entire dis-
tance
The engines are of the 4-6-i
type, having three pairs of driv-
ing wheels and a four wheel truck
at each end. The tenders,. carry-
ing 21,000 gallons of water and
V,000 gallons of fuel oil, are
mounted, each, on two six wheel
trucks. This provides 26 ~~whee'«
under locomotive «uid tender. The
driving wheel diameter is 84 inch-
es, the largest thus far used in a
six-coupled locomotive.
The streamlining design of "En-
gine 3460" offers further expres-
siori^of speed and power combin-
ed with decorative effects Hie
streamlining blends with the con-
tour of the train and consists of
a steel shroud bUilt over the lo-
comotive with, a vbullet nose-''
This steel covering does not blan-.
ket the connecting roda and valve
and affords unobstructed^
view from the cab.
Stainless steel strips, 18 inches
deep, extend from the front of
the locomotive to the rear of the
tender, on each side, and bear the
inscription "Santa Fe" and num-
ber "3460." The shrouding is
painted in two shades of blue with
striping in silver leaf, while the
wheel# are aluminum painted.
Other underportions of the engine
and tender are painted black.
The boiler1 of "this locomotive is

o'clock, and all the members are
urged to be present; we miss you
very much, when you are not Re-

your growth in grace and in the
knowledge of God when you stay
away from the worship and teach
