Dear Folks at Home,---Just
got tack from Sherman this morning early2:30
a. r.. Carlton Smyer,from here, who is a student
in A.C.had his car over there and came home in it
immediately after the graduation exercises. It was
rather muddy, tut we had no serious trouble with the xi
muddy roods. Slipped over into the ditch once, and
spent about 20 minutes dettin5 out, and our feet were
muddy up past the ankles. Shortly -after getting out
of the ditch we came up on a large gray horse standin
the middle of the road headed the same, way we were.
Carlton thought surely he would have sense enough to
get out of the road and so kept oomiif on,couldn't
afford to get out of the center of the road for fear
of slioping irtbo the ditch again, so we hit the horse
center shot, which collision stooped us and started YV
the horse. Evidently he nad been fast asleep. We
assured Ourselves there was no harm done to the car
and started out to follow the horse and found he was
sound and arle to det bout in a normal way."Crab"
Dalmont was vith us,a n it seerdd to have struck his
humorous side allrcst as tard as ve had struck the
horse's rear end. He got Carlton and me to laughing
and what had been a sleepy trio turned into a wideawake
joy ride, nd it was sometime after I got to my
roop before I wash sleepy enough to go to sleep,
I went over to Sherman Monday morning and stayed
