Mar.* , 1921.
Dea* folks at hoae,---.
Phoned a message to the telegraph offioe
for them to send off immediately to you for your
birthdays last Saturday morning but they slipped
up on sending it off and that night I just sent yor'
a night letter, whioh might not have gotten to you
till Monday since the following day was Sunday and
they likely do not deliver message on Sunday. Afte
all my card may get there aesoon as the wise.
Yesterday was a great day with us in the dy
church. No spec al servi es and no effort specially
was made to get people out, btf we had almost as
laese congregations as we ever had,and deep interes
shown in the services. Several recosseorated their
lives and pledges were made to attend midweek prayer
meeting.
We are slowly working out plane for the
Progressive Program, and for the Every YMeber Canvas
for Beneveleoe. We will have a supper for all
*growraups both sen and women, eome tme next week
at which tite we want to have morall rousing talks
on the Progrtesive Prograa and the E. .C. as well as
a number of items for, the betterment of our church.
Our Men's Bible Class in the S.S. is waking
up considerably too. A list has been made of the
men who should be in our olass, and all were surprised
that besides the 22 enrolled there are $S
men in the town who are either members and don't
oome to S.S.or are direotly connected with the ohur
bgy ties of blood and friendship or preference. The
next two weeks the class is putting on an intensive
campaign to enroll these 5, nbt to speak of scores
of others who are interested in no church at all
-one of whom sight be persuaded to join us. Pray fo
us that we may hae success.
We had a social in the basement of the ohuro
last Thurdday night in wbtioh a great variety of
stunts and games w re played and songs funny and
dignified were sung . It was real jolly get-toOether
of the members of the church and I think we
know one another 100 q better now than before.
Real Spring weather is here and the dreaded
bad weather we have been expecting to offset the
continuous pretty weather during the whole winter
seems to have passed us by. They say ;it has been
an exceptionally mild winter up north.
Didnt get off t -the Bible Conference in J
Dalles on account of feeling badly the first of the
week. Thought I would go this week but they have
moved the conference to Houston and thar is too fa*
for my pocket book.
Hope you all keep well
., o of love
