The Luiac Mass Keating at Wharton, Texas,
November 12, 3-950 was a great success, Lulae members.
Lulae Delegations and visitors from Laredo, San Antonio,
Corpus Christ!, Victoria. Ganado, Palacios, Bay City,
Richmond, Rosenberg, Alvm, Texas City, Galveston,
Pasadena ant Houston attended the meeting. There tore
approximately 250 persons present. Problems of Wharton
County and the surrounding territory were discussed.
Ways and means of organizing Lulae Councils in the five
counties surrounding Wharton, these being Victoria,
Jackson, Fort Bend, Brazoria and Matagorda Counties were
discussed.
Acting for the host council of Wharton County
was I'r. Abel Cisneros as president. Faster of Ceremonies
was John J. Herrera, '"ational Vice President of Lulae.
Presiding officer was the Hon, George J. Garza, National
President for Lulae from Laredo. Among the honored guests
".ere Liss Emily Rimmer, National President of the Junior
Lulaes of Houston, Texas, I'iss Susie Hernandez, rational
Secretary of the Junior Lulaes from Houston, Texas. I'r.
Lewis Vilmot, District Governor from Corpus Christi,
Texas. Lie. Hector de Pena and wife from Corpus Christ!,
Texas, !• r. James Saenz and Joe G rza also from Corpus
Christi.
A delegation from Galveston headed by Mr,
Guadalupe 1 artinez and Guadalupe Sandoval attended. The
Hon. Robert B. Cruz, Lulae Regional Governor and Jacob
I. Rodriguez and Tommy Martinez were present from San
Antonio.
The Houston Delegation consisted of Milton L.
Polakoff, District Governor, Felix Salazar, Vice president
of the Ho- ston Council, Gilbert Gomez, treasurer and Richa:
Ante, Arrando Mares, Jose J-lias Chapa, Philip Reyes, Louis
Reyes, Ernest Eguia, secretary of Houston Council. Leon
Reyes, Ernest Eguia, secretary of Houston Council. Leon
Eguia and John J. Herrera, National Vice President, who
acted as I aster of Ceremonies.
The immediate result of this Lulae conference
war that the Texas City Lulacs have called for a re-
organization meeting to be held at the Honorifica Hall at
Texas City, 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 19th. All Galveston
Lulacs from the City of Galveston have been asked to attend
this very important meeting.
