Visiting brethren were invited to seats with the Associ,
ation to aid in its councils.
Correspondence was called for.
Messengers were received from the following bodies: El-
ders E. H. Anderson, J. G. Russell and E. D. Kendall, from
the Little River Association; Elder B. H. Carroll, from the
Waco Association ; Elder J. B. Link, from the State Sabbath-
school Association, and Brother E. P. Chapman, from the
Austin Association.
The committee appointed last year to report upon Educa-
tion not being present, and no report sent up, Elder J. W.
Joiner was appointed to report at the present session.
Adjourned to meet at 9 o'clock A. .I., Monday.
RELIGIOUS EXERCISES.
Saturday night, preaching by Elder J. B. Link to a crowd-
ed house with marked effect.
Sunday morning, 9 o'clock, addresses were made to the
Sunday-school by Elders J. B. Link and J. H. Wright, which
both old and young appreciated greatly. At 11 o'clock, the
Missionary Sermon was preached by Elder J. S. IHolmes,
from 1 Cor. i. 2:1, 24. " But we preach:Christ crucified," &c.,
which was responded to by a collection of $36, from
" cheerful givers."
At 3 o'clock, Elder B. II. Carroll preached on the subject of
the resurrection, from the words: " If a man dies will he
live again ?" after' which a large number of convicted per-
sons came forward for prayers, and every knee in the crowd-
ed house knelt in prayer.
At night, Elder W. W. Harris preached. Several persons
declared that God had blessed them with changed hearts. It
was evident a great blessing was about to be poured out up.
