Resolved, That the Treasurer of this Society be hereby in-
structed to hold the funds in his hands subject to the order
of the Board of Directors of the Baptist State Convention,
to be applied to the support of the beneficiaries of said
Board.
Resolved, That Elder James Huckins be requested to
preach an educational sermon before the Society at its next
anniversary. A. DANIEL, Secretary.

Was constituted in the year A. D. 1841, by our beloved
brother, Wm. M. Tryon, with the following members, viz:
A. Buffington, N. Moor, J. L. Farquhar, A. W. Moore, Ann
Winfield, Ann Moore, Eliza Crosby, Huldah Farquhar, Reo-
becca Maxcy, Antonett L. Bledsoe, and two servants. Bros.
Farquhar and H. R. Cartmell,deacons ; A. Buffington, clerk.
Wm. M. Tryon, first pastor. Contains at present, white
member, 36 ; blacks, 16 ; whole number, 52.
PROVIDENCE CHUtCII, W\VASHIINGTON COUNTY,
Was organized Saturday before the fifth Sabbath in May,
1842, by Elders Wm. M. Tryon, R. E. B. Baylor, HI. Garrett,
and Elias Rogers, The names that went into the organiza-
tion-males, Benjamin H. Stribling, Thcmas H. Stribling,
Stephen Bennett, M. B. Bennett. Females-Ruth B. Strib-
ling, Maria E. Stribling, Polly Bennett, Sarah Bennett, and
Teresa Bennett. Elder Win. M. Tryon first pastor, Benja-
min II. Stribling and T. J. Jackson first deacons, and broth-
