The 2d AA Bn downed the 13th
Tank Bn 20 to 6 in the gruelling
Touch Football game played at
Red Lindsy Field Sept. 14. Corpo
ral's Charles H. Schenk and Bill
Anderson of Hq Btry played major
roles in the colorful and dramatic
game and together scored a total
of 13 points of the 20 that brought
defeat to the opposing team.
Hq Btry has lost PFC Nathaniel
Lyles to the 4005th ASU Transfer
Center as he prepares to depart
from the Armed Forces. Private
Lyles is one of the older members
of this unit and was attached to
the drivers section.
SFC. Vincent Cervantes Corpo
ral's Robert E. Reilly Bobby J.
Welch and Claude C. Johnson have
recently returned from their leav
es.
Hq Btry has lost Lt. James E.
Johnson former executive officer
to Btry of this Battalion. Leav
ing the S 4 section is Sgt. War
ren R. Fay and driver Charles E.
Gaines to the 4005th ASU Transfer
Center as they prepare to shed
their Khaki garb and don civilian
apparel.
Pvt. Lester L. Morgan of the S-4
section steped up into the grade
of PFC.

Corporal's Vernon Foltz and
Billy D. Sidney have joined the
ranks of the NCO's of this oi'gani-
zation upon receipt of their corpo
ral stripes. Two other members cf
the Battery are sporting their first
stripe. They are Donald Martin
and Franklin D. Falcon.
Cpl. John Hardin left this past
week to spend a few days at his
home.
Cpl. Hugh Boyle and Pvt. Roger
Stephens have returned to duty aft
er a short stay at the station hos
pital.
Sgt. Richard F. Kirby is
carrying a perpetual smile.
BTRY
Lt. Arthur E. Woodard is a hap
py civilian and Florida bound as
of Sept 16. He has been holding
down the position of second platoon
leader.
Replacing Lieutenant Woodard
as second Platoon leader and also
new to the battery is Lt. Gerald
D. Amstutz. He was assigned here
from Fort Bliss.
As Sept. 21 draws near every
one is preparing for another week
in the field. After the field prob
lem there will be a number of men
looking forward to their first leave
in the Army. Cpl. Pasquale Spano
was promoted to Sergeant PFC.

Lowery were promoted to corpo
ral Pvt. Jack L. Lemings was
pi'omoted to private first class.

their home in Kansas.
Pvt. Von J. Anthony returned to
the Battery from a long stay in
the hospital. Pvt. Warren J. Oten
was released from the hospital last
week.
Cpl. John L. Gray took a seven-
day leave to stay with his family
in Hood Village.
PFC Lee R. Bonnett was reas
signed to Hq Btry of this Battal
ion. He will work as a carpenter.
BTRY
PFC Otis Fleeton won "Driver
of the Month" in this battalion.
The Football Team of which
Btry forms the nucleus tromped
the 13th Tk Bn 20 to 6 in their
second game of the season.

HQ & HQ CO.
Col. James L. King arrived here
last week and has assumed com
mand of this organization. A tem-
proary headquarters has been set
up because of a move to a new
location in the near future.
Sgt. Ed Forbes entered the hos
pital last week for an operation.
Capt. Harvery Kochner became
the new group Chaplain last week.
Pvt. Ed Hallel has joined the 17-

This week the unit temporarily
lost the services of three men now
on fifteen day furloughs. They
are SFC John Huckaby Cpl. Joe
Perzynsky and PFC. James Buch
anan.
Cpl. Bob Ray of the T&T Section
recently became the father of a
baby girl. The new Hoosier's name
is Karen Sue.
Several newly promoted men are
in the section. They are Corporals
Larry Scinto Joe Perzynsky Gus
Hissel Sam Pohrebny and Don
Tripp along with PFC. Tex David
son PFC. Mike Orensten and PFC.

All the men from the shop who
were on D. S. to the 100th Tk Bn
at North Fort this summer for sup
port of the National Guard trail
ing program have returned. They

er to the section has returned
from Ansbach Germany where
he .attended a Signal School and
will be assigned to the Radio Sec

PFC Loren Parker was promot

New vehicles have arrived and
the unit is now in the process of
being cleaned up for field prob
lems. A few of the men in the
section are now building a cage
for the new mascot which is called
a "Coati."

Three- men received their ri-
mary MOS's last week. They are
Privates Maurice Finkel Glenn
Silker and Joe Russell. PFC. Rob
ert Huber has assumed the job of
assistant S 3.
RADIO RELAY
Sgt. Wilfred Clark who has
just returned from duty in Korea
has assumed the post of section
chief at Radio Relay. This will
bring the total strength of the sec
tion to 21 men when Corporals Al
fred Kerr Eugene Pettus and Ger-
als Peterson return from leaves.
The section has its time fully oc
cupied in the exchange of vehic
les to conform to the new TO&E.
While two jeeps were turned in
this loss was more than balanced
by the arrival of eight trucks
fresh from storage to add to the
two already on hand. Every man
has now donned mechanic's caps
to bring the vehicles into running
condition.
