When actors and actresses
are not involved in a
theatrical endeavor they
tend to sulk around trying to
find something to do and
remain on the right side of
the law. This may seem a lit-
tie hard to believe but there
is a serious loss to stage
lovers with the closing of a
show which has occupied
almost every night of their
time for rehearsals and set
construction.
There is no one to yell at
them and no one for them to
yell at except for their
families. And this can and
does' cause all sorts of
problems for everybody! But
next week there are try-outs
for Ira Levin's terrifing play
O O O O S
GARDEN". With this show
everyone will have a chance
to read for a part and again
become involved with the
theater.
Tryouts will be at 7:30 PM
at the theater building 515
on Old Battalion Ave. and
24th Street. We'd like to see
as many of you there as
possible. Even though the
cast only calls for 3 men and
2 women there are still
plenty of technical jobs which
must be taken care of and
these can be done by mem
bers of either sex. So plan to
come to the theater on Oc
tober 8 9 and 10th for your
chance at a part.
In other theatrical hap
penings don't forget the
Guild meetings on the 2d and
4th Mondays of each month.
The next meeting will be at
7:30 PM on the 8th of Oc
tober at the theater. You all
are cordially invited to attend
and bring your friends. This
is also the night that all
monies must be turned in at
the theater for the trip to
Dallas to see "The Student
Prince" at the Heart O'
Texas fairgrounds on Oct.
20th. The price (which in
cludes the admission to the
fairgrounds) is $7.00 per per
son.
The bus will depart the
FHCT parking lot at 10:00
AM and the ETR has not yet
been determined. You can
plan on returning rather late
though.
Steve Morris has been busy
preparing for his clinic on set
design which is scheduled to
be presented on 10 Oct at the
theater. We will be discussing
all aspects of theatrical
design and construction. As
with any clinic you may
have some outstanding ideas
which could be used in one of
the future FHCT productions.
This is planned as an evening
of learning and more impor
tantly doing.
I hope many of you can see
your way clear to joining.us
on the 10th of October for the
set design clinic. This is just
the first of several such
a a in a
workshops which are curren
tly being planned for area
personnel. Many long hard
hours of preparation to in to
the production of one of these
services and personally I
think it's a darn shame that
Hood/Killeen residents don't
take advantage of this exT
cellent learning opportunity.
We will be looking forward to
seeing all of you that can
make it at 7:30 PM at the
theater on 10 Oct.
Until next time remember
as the show must go on so
must life. May your problems
be molehills and your suc
cesses mountains which by
climbing bring you closer to
the desires of your heart.
