Port Arthur - Jan. 30 - Danny Bromley and Kim Bergman
opened up in the second half to beat the Nederland Bulldogs
60-48 and enabled the Jackets to remain undefeated through the
first half of district play. The Jackets were ahead 30-28 at the half
and it looked as if the Bulldogs would make a close contest of it.
Then the second half started and the Jackets took control of the
boards and the game as they went into the lead for good. Bromley
was high scorer in the game with 31 and Bergman netted 15.
Nederland - Feb. 24 - Led by Danny Bromley and Randie
Cooper, the Jackets finished the district race without a loss. This
marked the first time since 1964 any district team had accom-
plished this. The Jackets had a tremendous average as they hit
54% from the field and 80% from the line. Bromley finished with
30 points and Cooper had 20. The final score was 66-59.EDDIE COLLINS
