SCHOOL NOTES
... Fundamentals...
of a bank are three—resouces, facilities, and service, and
the greatest of these is service.
And this because a bank to exist must possess strong
resources and adequate facilities, but its service depends
upon the caliber of those behind it.
The quali'y and flexibility of our service will please
you. Your needs are rot too large to tax up. nor too small
to merit our best attention.

The News is requested to'
make a correction in the item
printed in last week's paper
giving account of the suicide
of R. C. Burton. It was stated
in the article that the reason
assigned for the rash act was|
inability to get help to continue
his crop. Relatives state that
this is an error. Mr. Burton left)
no note and the reason why
he shot himself will never be
known. However, it is known
that his health had been bad for t
sometime, and on Tuesday, the
day before he committed sui-
cide, he was in town and con-|
suited a physician, who told t
him he had pellagra. This may
have been the cause of the act.

The News for printing.
Mr. Sam Dale, of the Dainger
field Nursery, was in Winns-
boro Friday and Saturday ex-
hibiting samples of the famous
Dale Elberta cling peach and
Stark's Golden plum. Mr. Dale
presented The News with a sack
of the peaches and after eating
a few of them we can back
up anything Mr. Dale claims
for the variety. The Dale El-
berta is not a suitable shipping
peach, but for home use—eat-
ing, canning, preserving, etc.. it
has no equal. It has a prettier
and more uniform shape than
the EH>erta and is finely flavor-
ed. Everv home owner should
have a few of the trees. Mr.
Dale would be glad to hear
from any prospective buyer
and will take pleasure in quot-
ing prices by mail.
