May, 1978, was a month and year looked forward to
by many students with great anticipation. This month
marked a change in lifestyles for many. A large number
of Chinese ranked among the 1978 graduates of insti-
tutions of higher learning: JEANNIE QUAN GOR received
a Masters degree from the Medical Center branch of
Texas Women's University. Her field of study was nu-
trition and diet. DANNY JEE, the son of MR. & MRS. HUGH
JEE, graduated from UH Optometry School as a Doctor of
Optometry.
Undergraduate degrees were earned by the following
ex-students:
From the University of Texas: RICK QUAN, the son
of MR. & MRS. BILL QUAN, received a BS in communications
and will be working as a sportscaster in Jonesboro, Ark.
JUDY YEP, the daughter of MR. & MRS. GUY YEP, graduated
with a BA in Biochemistry and will be doing Cancer Re-
search with MD Anderson in Smithville, Tx. LINDA GOR,
the daughter of MR. & MRS. JOE M.F. GOR, earned a BBA
in Marketing. MARY JEW, the daughter of MR. & MRS. GENE
W. JEW, received her BBA in Accounting and will soon be
workina with Getty Oil Co.
SUSAN DENISE GEE, the daugh-
ter of MR. & MRS. DAVID GEE,
graduated with a BBA in
Marketing and will begin
working under Foley's ex-
ecutive training program.
Susan was also named Out-
standing Student in the
College of Business, an hon-
or bestowed upon only 6 of
over 7000 business majors at
UT.
University of Houston graduates were: ALICE YEE, the
daughter of MR. & MRS. LOUIS WOO YEE; KENNETH HOM, the
son of MRS. FRANK HOM; ANNIE LIM, the daughter of MR. &
MRS. JAMES LIM, and LINDA DEE, the daughter of MR. & MRS.
WILLIAM DEE.
Graduating from the University of St. Thomas was
HELEN MAE LIM, the daughter of MR. & MRS. WAYNE LIM.
New Rice University alumni are DELORA NG, the daugh-
ter of MR. & MRS. CHARLES MING NG; SUSAN FONG, the daugh-
ter of MR. & MRS. S.H. FONG, and STEVEN WONG, the son of
TEXAS and VIRGINIA WONG of San Antonio.
Graduating from Texas Women's University in Denton
was JUNE LOCK, the daughter of MR. & MRS. THOMAS LOCK.
On the West coast CONNIE LEO, the daughter of MR.
& MRS. YEE LEO, received a degree from UCLA, and up east,
PAMELA TOY WADDELL graduated from Duquesne University in
Pennsylvania.

Recently promoted to Department Sales Manager at
Sanger-Harris Department Stores in Dallas was WARREN
CHANG, the son of MR. & MRS. TERRY CHANG
ALBERT &
TERRY LEW will soon be moving into a new home in the
Mission Bend addition A reception honoring Con-
gressional candidate Mickey Leland was recently held
at Lee's Inn Restaurant by the Minorities for Good
Government of Houston, Texas. Organizers of the rec-
eption included JIM SOON LEE, GEORGE GEE, T.K. LEE,
and TIMOTHY K. SEO
The Chinese Association of Organizations is now a
legally incorporated non-profit coroporation chartered
by the state of Texas ....In town spending a 3 week
visit with her sister, MRS. ALBERT GEE, is SALLY WONG
from Oregon. She's here with daughter Lisa who recently
graduated from high school
Winner of 2nd place in the Greater Houston Kamaro
League was the Hoe Kai Yais. Team members are STEVEN
TOY, WESLEY ENG, TOMMY HOM, MILES LIM, NORMAN TOY, JACK
JOE, AND DWIGHT TOY. Jack Joe also earned a 2nd place
for high game...

Board of Realtors and is also on the sales staff of mul-
tiple listing Recently returned from a mini-vacation
to Mexico City were 5 sun tanned couples: MR. & MRS.
HARRY H. LIM, MR. & MRS. JAMES LIM, MR. & MRS. GENE L.
LEE, MR. & MRS. GENE WOO, and MR. & MRS. JOHNNY M.S. LEE
...JOHN & SUSAN LOCK are busy decorating their newly
purchased home in the Heights DR. PAUL FAN is retir-
ing from the UH faculty
MR. & MRS. GEORGE BO-LINN are taking an exciting and
joyful trip to Hong Kong where Mrs. Bo-Linn will have
a reunion with her mother after a 30 year separation.
It will also be a first trip to Hong Kong for their daugh-
ters CHEE-VON and CHEE-YEN. Their older daughter, CHEE-
MIN, has been living there for the last year as an Am-
bassador of Goodwill from the U.S., and has been teaching
at Hong Kong University. She will be returning to the
States in July to conclude her studies for a PhD
