SPECIAL ARCHERY HUNTING - CERTAIN COUNTIES

SECTION 1. This Act applies only in the following counties:
Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie, Kendall, Llano, Mason, McCulloch,
San Saba, and Travis.
SEC. 2. There shall be an open archery season, or period of
time, when it shall be lawful to hunt, take and kill solely with
bows and arrows, wild buck deer, wild antlerless deer, wild bear,
wild turkey gobblers, and collard peccary or javelina. The open
archery season in each of the counties is the thirty calendar
days immediately preceding the regular open season for hunting
deer in the county, as provided by law or by proclamation of the
Parks and Wildlife Department.
SEc. 3. (a) It shall be unlawful to hunt, take or kill wild
buck deer, wild antlerless deer, wild bear, wild turkey gobblers,
and collared peccary or javelina during open archery season
while having any type of firearm or crossbow on the person and
at the same time have in his or her possession bow and arrow in
an automobile or in a hunting camp or otherwise having any
type of firearm or any type of crossbow in possession.
(b) Any person violating any provision of this Section shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be
fined in any sum not less than Fifty Dollars ($50) nor more
than Two Hundred Dollars ($200).
SEC. 4. It shall be unlawful at any time to hunt, take or kill
with bows and arrows wild buck deer, wild antlerless deer, wild
bear, wild turkey gobblers and collared peccary or javelina un-
der each of these circumstances: using a bow that is not capable
of shooting a hunting arrow equipped with a broadhead hunting
point for a distance of one hundred and thirty (130) yards; us-
ing arrows that are not equipped with broadhead hunting points
at least seven-eighths inches (7") in width and not over one
and one-half inches (1/") in width; using arrows that do not
have on them in some nonwater-soluble media the name and ad-
dress of the user; using either poisoned, drugged or explosive
arrows.
SEC. 5. As used in this Act, a "buck deer" is a deer which has
a hardened antler protruding through the skin. An "antlerless
deer" is any other deer.
SEC. 6. (a) No person may take or kill more than one antler-
less deer with bow and arrows during an open archery season.
(b) No person may possess an antlerless deer unless he has in
his possession an antlerless deer permit on which appears the
