Minors in Business
A minor in business may be added to degrees. Some of the courses in
these minors will have prerequisites. For non-business majors seeking
any business minor, some prerequisites can be waived; please see the
COBA advisor for additional information. A business minor requires
18 credit hours as follows:
Business Administration (non-BBA majors only)
The minor in business administration requires 18 hours selected from the
following courses:
1. Business, 12 hours: ACCT 210; ECON 260; MGMT 330; MKTG 340.
2. Business selections, 6 hours: Choose from ACCT 211; BLAW 363;
BUSA 419 or MKTG 419; ECON 261; FIN 310, 411, 416; ISQS 324;
MGMT 120, 331, 335, 432.
Human Resource Management
The minor in human resource management requires 18 hours as follows:
1. Choose 18 hours from BLAW 465; COMS 430; HRM 350, 373. 375,
447, 450, 486, 499; PSYC 388.
Information Systems (non-computer science majors only)
The minor in information systems requires 18 hours as follows:
1. Choose 18 hours from CS 120, 121, 131; ISQS 324, 499; JMC 451.
International Business (BBA majors only)
The minor in international business requires 18 hours as follows:
1. Choose 6 hours from ANTH 101, 211; GEOG 235; INTS 499.
2. Choose 0-3 hours from BMIS 346, 371; PHIL 380.
3. Choose 3-6 hours from BUSA 419; FIN 419; MKTG 419.
4 Choose 3 hours from POLS 344, 360, 483, 484.
5. Choose 3 hours from COMS 345, 383.
Strongly recommended 6 hours of 200-level or higher foreign language.
Marketing
The minor in marketing requires 18 hours as follows:
1. Marketing foundations, 3 hours: MKTG 340.
2. Marketing selections, 9-15 hours: from MKTG 341, 342, 343, 344,
345, 385, 419, 443.
3. Marketing selections, 0-6 hours: from MKTG 301, 390, 491.
Quantitative Business Analysis (non-Math majors only)
The minor in quantitative business requires 18 hours as follows:
1. Analytical selections, 12 hours: choose from FIN 310, 412; ISQS
322; MATH 131, 334.
2. Mathematical selections, 6 hours: choose from MATH 432, 477.
