Family Psychology (FPSY)
Dr. Sue Lucas, Program Director
This program is designed to prepare clinicians for job opportunities in clinical settings which
involve therapeutic services to families, individuals, and couples. Through our program's use of
diverse educational perspectives, gathered from the related disciplines of psychology, marital and
family therapy, and testing/evaluation, our graduates are able to develop a wide array of clinical
skills which can then be utilized in a variety of settings. Since the ability to assess, monitor and
modify one's strengths and weaknesses is a valued component to being a competent and effec-
tive clinician, our program includes various classroom opportunities that encourage our graduate
students to enhance their self-awareness.
Multiple Mental Health Credentials
Course work and clinical experience requirements are designed to allow the student to pursue
the following mental health credentials: Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed
Professional Counselor, and Psychological Associate.
