The town of Prosper was visited
by a very destructive Are about 11
o'clock Friday night, causing a loss
of over $10,000, with but little In-
surance.
The tire burned along the row of
frame buildings on the north side
of the street, between the brick
building owned by the Odd Fellows,
which order occupied the second
story, the first floor being occupied
by the Jackson-Clayton hardware
establishment on the east, and the
barber shop of W. F. Levy on the
west, the following being the suffer-
proportion to the amount of the
losses.

The fire originated In the grocery

mentioned were destroyed. Ths
brick wall of the Odd Fellows build-

enabled the citizens to stop the fire
after the destruction of the grocery
store.

On account of the burning of the
telephone office and the conse-
quent disarrangement of the service,
it was very difficult to get Informa-
tion over the wire concerning the
fire, but after repeated attempts
and through the assistance of the
McKlnney office, statement of
the losses and Insurance was obtain-

and further Information from W. A.
