Mich., May 15.—Ten men
were killed and three were injured
here today In au explosion that
practically wrecked the plant of the
Mexican Crude Rubber Company.
Only twenty-live men were In tho
buildings at the time of the explosion.
Gasoline Is believed to be the cause.
One body was blown through the
roof of the building, and others were
burned so badly as to be almost un-
recognisable. Most of tho victims
were mechanics. Many windows were
broken for several blocks around the
factory.
The managers of the factory re-
ported this afternoon that another
possible cause of the disaster was the
blowing up of a large vat of molten
rubber. The plant was a one-storj;
building of concrete, Oreat chunks
of concrete were hurled two blocks
In every direction. Some nearby
buildings were seriously damaged.
