Methodist church last Friday night.
On Nov. 14 \V. J. tioodman gave a
dinner to a few of his old friends, it
being his 75th birthday. Mr. Oood-
inaii is an old pioneer settler of this
community. lie gets about remark-
ably well for one of his age, and has
reasonably good health. We wish for
"Grandpa" (ioodman many more
happy birthdays.

were not able to attend the funeral.
Mrs. Woodall came in Texas In 1K69,
and made her home at Verona for
something near HO years. Since the
death of her husband, Ellslin Wood-
all. fourteen years ago, she has made
her home with her ehlidreU. She was
a member of the Methodist church
and a devoted Christian. A large
crowd of relatives ami friends were
present to pay the last tribute of re-
spect to her remains. She left the as-
surance that she was going to a bel-
ter home, it always seems sad to see
n mother taken away, but her life
will always remain with those that
knew her and will be an example lead-
ing to a higher life.
