We need your help to bring Amarilio forward; we need your help to make Am-
arillo a cosmopolitan city- city that is safe sane nnd progressive city for all
the Panhandle Country to be the home and headquarters for all occupations and
professions.
Many of you have the savings of a lifetime invested in Amarillo; many of you
own lots and other real estate as an investment AND YOU KNOW WHAT THIS
IMAGINARY PROSPERITY HAS DONE FOR YOU UNDER PROHIBITION. We
must have realization not imagination. A city cither goes forward in the line of pro-
gress cr she retrogrades. Then your buildings houses and all real eitate depreciate.
With confidence destroyed loan companies and capitalists look shy at investments.
Are they seeking investment in Amarillo today?
WE HAVE OVER 200 VACANT RESIDENCES IN AMARILLO AND
THERE ARE 25 VACANT STORE BUILDINGS AND 4 OFFICES.
Vole with us on December 6 1913 against Prohibition i"ur better times. The
new stringent State laws will control the saloons. Thcv will not be permitted to
open before 6:00 A. M. and they must cloe .'.t 9:30 P. M. The license of any sa-
loon mjy be taken away arbitrarily with cut my ree'esi or recourse. As to the
number and location of saloons the new city i barter gives the corr.m'Mionirs power
to regulate them and to confine the saloons within the boundaries of the business dis-
trict. t
We believe Amarillo will be much bsttcr both morally and financially with
few regulated saloons and save the county thousands of dollars.
WE ARE FAVORABLY LOCATED AS A CENTER TO MAKE A GREAT
Cin HERE FOR NORTHWEST TEXAS. Ot.Vr cities are as favorably located in
Texas as Amarillo Dallas Houston San Antonio and El Paso and they are flour-
ishing cities. Why keep Amarillo backward? Help us to sten forward into the line
of progression by voting against Prohibition on December 6.
WE BELIEVE IT WILL MEAN IMMEDIATE IMPROVEMENT IN ALL LINES
OF BUSINESS AND PARTICULARLY IN THE VARIOUS TRADES. If you feel
that ycu cannot consistently vote with us we ask you to remain reutral and give us
a chance to accomplish prosperity for men cf all trades and professions and for
those who have their all invested in Amarilio.
Yours very truly
CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE
For the Antis.
(This advertisement is paid for by men who are in business and by men who
own their little homes and by men who own LuJ.irss residence and vacant property
and who want to see Amarillo a prosperous city not a so-called prosperous city in the
imagination of a few men.)
