The Tattler had its origin in an attempt to place Mineral Wells High
School among the foremost schools in the State of Texas. It went through
an uncertain period of gestation during its first year in Mineral Wells. The
fortunes of the publication, as with any new venture, have passed through
many vicissitudes, but have ultimately been placed upon a permanent basis
through the untiring efforts of a few teachers and a small number of the
student body.
A blanket tax has been introduced and the Tattler gets an apportion-
ment from the proceeds. which, with the advertisements secured from the
business men of the city helps to assure our paper of a certain berth and the
school as an efficient and attractive High School paper as is found in the
State.
The publications of this year probably owe most to Jack Hamilton for
their success, as he has worked faithfully and brought the Tattler through
all of the hardships of the year successfully.
