STHE-- EJRRO ,
THE DENTON GAME
Something had to be done to wipe out the Arlington Heights de-
feat, so when Denton came over they were the victims of a fight which
was going "to win or bust." Mineral Wells was alive and played col-
lege football and they swept the field with a great offense.
To make the boys fight harder, Denton scored the first touchdown
on a pass. After that it was absolutely murder. Time after time
Brewster plunged the line, leaving a heap of mangled players behind
him. Every play worked out just right and the brilliant defense
smothered every attack of the opposition.
Three touchdowns were scored before the referee's final whistle
stopped the onslaught, and the game ended 18 to 6 with old Mineral
Wells High on the big end, and everybody was happy. i
THE BRECKENRIDGE GAME
On Thanksgiving Day, the last game of the season, Breckenridge
came over here with a record of having won 8 and lost 1. By playing i
straight football, this fast aggregation piled up a score of 24 to 0,
with two Mineral Wells stars out of the game on account of injuries.
Most all of the game was played in Mineral Wells' territory, and at
no time was the Breckenridge goal in danger. Breckenridge did not
punt a single time.
The notable feature of the game was the fight displayed by the
Mineral Wells men, who at no time gave up, but who fought until the
final whistle sounded. Every reserve of the Mineral Wells team got
a taste of Breckenridge's smashing offense, and some of them showed
up well. Better luck next year, Mineral Wells High.
