FLYING MACHINE
IN MEXiA
The commotion of whistle and
fire belln about noon today wax
«aused by the expected arrival in
our little city of Robert G. Fow-
ler, the ocean to ocean aviator,
who is flying from San Francis-

He left Corak "vna at 11.22, and
About thirty minutas later was
-sighted in the north and ten min-

a beautiful landing in the open
field' and soon there was a large

there to Calvert to spend the

Tor That Dull Feeling After
Eating.
I liavee used Chamberlain's
Stoniaeh and Liver Tablets for
some time, and can te&tif that
they have done me mow; good
tlian any tablets I have ever
used. My trouble was a heavy
dull feeling after eating.—David
Freeman, Kempt, Nova Scotia.
These tablets strengthen the
stomach and improve the diges-
tion. They also regulate the iivoi
and bowels. They are far supe-
rior to pills but cost no more.

REV. C. L. JENNINGS
Rev. G. L. Jennings, after a
period of several years' suffer-
ing, following a fall which he re-
ceived on the streets of Mart,
died at his home a* Kirk, this
county, on the morning of the
24th inst., and was buried by the
Masonic fraternity of Groesbeck
n the Kirk cemetery the follow-
ing day.
Brother Jennings, as he was
known to the people of Limestone
county, and more especially to
older generation, was perhaps
the best known minister who evei
served the Master in this county,
it being said that he had assisted
in the organization of more
churches in Limestone county
jhan any other one person. In
his long ministerial career he
baptized over sixteen hundred in-
jo the Baptist church, truly a
great work in the spiritual up-
lifting of humanity.
A vast throng of people, from
the different portions of the coun
ty, packed the church at Kirk,
where religious services were hel<
fiver the remains, and truly sor-
vow was written oq. the count©-
naances all. Yet, at the review
of the life of the illustridiisMfcad,
which was so ably spent in the
xvork of God, death in thfe in-
Ktance lost much of its terror,
and we venture, few there were
who listened to the discourses
who yearned not for such assur-
ances as were vouchafed this man
of God when the end shall have
come.
The world is better by reason
of Brother Jennings having lived
in it; his life was ever an inspira-
tion to others in doing good.—

THANKSGIVING MRS. LOUISE
SERVICES
A large congregation attended
the Thanksgiving services at the
First Presbyterian church Thurs-
day and heard a good sermon de-
livered by Rev. E. P. Williams,
the new pastor of the M. E.
church.
A collection was taken for
charitable purposes, amounting
to $10.80 and the Pastors asso-
ciation appointed the following
committee to see that the fund

OUT OF DEBT
On the evening of Nov. 30th,
the manse of the First Presbyte-
rian church was thrown open to
the members of that church, to
celebrate the payment of the last
dollar of indebtedness, upon the
manse. This was an occasion of
great joy for all who attended as>
a cause for devout thankfulness
to God for His mercies to us.
Mr. Red favored us with a
very appropriate talk, which all
enjoyed very much, and then Mr.
McGeorge of Philadelphia being
present as a guest, congratulated
the members, on the crowning ol
their efforts, and thought they
would have cause to rejoice for
many years, to couvj, on what had
been accomplished. His well
chosen remarks were happily re-
ceived by all present.
Mr. A. B. Rennolds, also made
some very fitting remarks on the
occasion of this celebration, while
.Judge White had enjoyed Thanks
giving turkey, and its accom-
paniments, to the extent, that he
did not feel equal to the occasion
but expressed1 a few words which
>roved that he entered heartily
into this spirit of Thanksgiving.
These impromptu speeches were
given in a happy way, and were
very much enjoyed by all pres-
ent. A motion was then made
and seconded to burn the notes,
all agreeing the President of our
Missionary Society, Mrs. A. B.
Rennolds consigned tliem t<o the
flames.
Mrs. Red and William Red, Jr.
rendered some nweet music, after
which our hostess served refresh-
ments. The rest of the evening
was spent in social enjoyment.
At an appropriate hour the
guests departed, feeling that it
was good to be there.

devoted husband had been con-
stantly at her bedside thoughout
all her long confinement, but ev-
erything that loving hands and
skilled physicans could do was to
no avil. Death claimed and de-
manded his own.
The deceased was born in Ten-
nessee, but came to this county
when quite young and this was
her home until she was married
to Mr. L. L. Davis, May 20th,
1899, since which time Dallas has
been her home.
Mrs. Davis was a devoted
Christian lady and bore all of
her lonig suffering with resigna-
tion and christian fortitude. She
leaves a devoted husband, father,
Maj. A. D. Rhea, five brothers,
Robert, Joe, Rodgers, Cleaves and
A. I)., Jr., and one sister, Miss
Elizabeth Rhea, all of whom are
here, besides many good and true
friends, to mourn her untimely
loss.
