BREAKFAST: rolled oats;

raw peaches; hot milk for tWO-
LUNCH: BEAN puree made of
milk plus left-over soup, stew,
end beans; cabbage salad with
hot salt pork and vinegar' for
dressing; gat pan cakes; margar-
ine; syrup pears en ■ casserole. '

WHOLE WHEAT BREAD
Heat 6 cups of skim milk or 3
cups of milk and three cups of
water to steaming and pour over
the 1 1-2 T fat, 6 T sugar, and 6
t salt. Stir until sugar is dis-
solved and the fat melted. Cool
to luke warm. Soften the yeast
in 1 T of the cooled liquid, thon
stir ;t into the liquid. M^( the
white and whole wheat flour. Add
enough of the flour to make a stiff
Md set in a warm place (not
) till it doubles in bulk. Now
add just enough more flour to

ed without sticking either to the
hands or board- . Knead until H

knead again- Make into A loaves
and put in well greased pans fur
baking. Let doubto in bulk and

NOTE; For white bread fol-
low the above recipe but use only
white flour. A good plan is to
place discovered bowl in a dish
pan of warm water, find cover
with a dish towel.
ROLLED COAT PAN CAKES
Sift the following tc«bsther five
times:,- 1 c flour* 11-2 t baking
powder, 1 ,;t salt,. Ji t soda. Then
combine the following ingredients
and add them to tho dry mixture:
,1 cup rolled oats, 2 eggs well
beaten, 3 c sour mi|k, 4 T to T
melted faW Stir only enough to
mix well. Cook on a hot griddle.

carrots, 2 T salt pork fat or mar-
garine, salt to taste, l-l« t pep-
per, if desired, t-3 c hot water
Scrape carrots, leave whole, or
cut in pieces cf desired size. Melt
fat in casserole Put carrots in
meltedt fat, add salt and pepper
and stir till fat is well distributed
over carrots. Pour water down
side of casserole. Cove? and
cook in moderate oven (350 F
