III Corps and Fort Hood wel-
comed anew commander Lt.
Gen. Crosbie E. Saint and bid a
fond farewell to retiring com-
an er Lt. Gen. W alter F.
Ulmer Jr. in a change of com-
mand ceremony June 11 at San-
dowski Field.
ULMER SAID th a od

day for a change of command
ceremony with the perfect mix-
ture of sun clouds and wind for
which all the parade partici-
pants were probably grateful.
Representing Fort Hood dur-
ing the ceremony were person-
nel from all the major units and
also from the visiting U.S.
Army Reserves and National
Guard.

der. He said that Fort Hood is
the finest installation in the
Army regardless of the fact that
it received runner up in the In-
stallation of Excellence com-
petition.
After his speech Sennewald
introduced Saint who said of
the soldiers of Fort Hood “You
soldiers look and are magnifi-
cent.”
“OUR MISSION is to prepare
our Army to deter any aggres-
sor” Saint said “and th at’s
what we’re prepared to do. We
will take care of and train our
soldiers.”
Saint was born at West Point
N.Y. He graduated from the
