1 AN ACT 2 relating to the installation of a speed feedback sign by a property 3 owners' association. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 5 SECTION 1. Chapter 430, Transportation Code, is amended by 6 adding Section 430.002 to read as follows: 7 Sec. 430.002. SPEED FEEDBACK SIGNS ERECTED BY NEIGHBORHOOD 8 ASSOCIATION. (a) In this section, "property owners' association" 9 means an association described by Section 204.004, Property Code. 10 (b) A property owners' association may install a speed 11 feedback sign on a road, highway, or street in the association's 12 jurisdiction if: 13 (1) the association receives the consent of the 14 governing body of the political subdivision that maintains the 15 road, highway, or street for the placement of the sign; and 16 (2) the association pays for the installation of the 17 sign. 18 (c) A property owners' association that installs a speed 19 feedback sign under this section is responsible for the maintenance 20 of the sign. 21 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 22 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 23 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.
