The largest senior class in the history of Pampa High School had a busy year under the leader-
ship of Elmer Watkins, who was elected president both semesters. Roy Showers was chosen vice-
president and social chairman for the first semester and Helen Draper for the second semester.
Alberteen Schulkey served all year as secretary-treasurer.
Winston Savage was head sponsor. He was assisted by Miss Anne Louise Jones, Odus Mitchell,
Miss Alice Short, and Ernest Cabe.
The first social affair was an apron and overall party, ending with a college comedy at the LaNora.
A picnic was held each semester. Putting over the class play, "Her Step Husband," in a big way and
carrying off all the places in the annual favorites contest really aroused class pride. Senior boxers and
softball players figured prominently in the intramural contest. Five inches of snow did not dampen
the enthusiasm of seniors who came to school dressed as kids on April 1, presented a clever stunt
program in assembly, had a picnic lunch in the red brick building at noon, and went to the show
on "kids" prices.
As this book goes to press, the class trip to Carlsbad Cavern is scheduled for May 6-8, the
Junior-Senior Banquet for May 14, the Vesper Service for May 22, the A. A U.U. W. reception for
May 23, and Commencement for May 27.
