definite arrangements had yet been
made.

name of the company" said be. We
expect to interest a number of Texas
men with us and we expect to buy oil

manage the business.
Mr. Pierce Will Bo Interested.
"Will Mr. Pierce be one f your
stockholders?"
"Mr. Pierce will be interested with
me In the concern which will conduct
the business. I have asked him to Join
me In It because of his experience ln
the oil trade and for the sake of his
name and good wl'l. He will be In-
terested with me purely as an individ-
ual and not in the connection with any
corporation with which he Is identi-
fied. Then we expect to ask some
Texas men to Join us as we want It to
be a Texas concern."
From the language employed by Col.

ANOTHER BIG FIRE.
Harrison Building on Railroad Street
Near Court House Burned to
the Ground.
Itryan suffered another big fire at
3:30 tbls morning and now there are
more burned and smouldering walls
to mar the beauty of our little city.
At 3:30 thla morning an alarm of
fire was sounded and the news was
quit kly spread over the city by phone
that the Harrison building on railroad
street was burning. Notwithstanding
the hour nor the freexing cold a great
many men piled out and after hastily
clremtinx hastened to the fire to
if they could be of service in saving
nearby buildings. The firemen how
ever handled the situation well and
confluel the fire ti the Harrison build
ing .
The fire originated in the northeast
corner of the building on the second
floor and waa first seen by Mr. C. L.
McCoy a ho rooms near by.. He ran to
the water plant and gave the alarm
and the scree bins whistle did the
rest. Mr. Calhoun who drives the fire
wagon got hla outfit out and before
any of the firemtn -came connected
with the plug at the standplpe and
then drove to the plug at the street
corner In the rear of the building and
by that time other firemen had arrl
ved and the coupling waa made. Two
streams were turned on but the fire
being on the Inside and very high.
little progress waa made and the wood-
en partitions of the second story con
tinued to fcern fiercely. The pres-
sure was very light for a w hile as the
man at the plant thought they had
only the qne line of hose. Mayor Ma
loney aent word over that two lines
were laid and a stronger pressure was
Riven.
Judge Hudson's office Immediately
in therear caught fire several times
but each time the firemen turned on a
stream and put It out .
The two aide walls fell In but the
end walls stood. On account of the
danger or the east wall falling and
crushing Judge Had son s office wort
was begun this afternoon In tearing
It down.
Mr. Rlgelow who ts sinklns Ihe well
at the water plant roomed In the front
room op stairs in the building and
not being there when the fire started
lost all hla belongings. The first floor
waa not occupied. Ilensarllng Bros
hrvlng recently moved out
The loss waa partially covered by
Insurance. Dr. Harrison having the
sum of $5000 on the building. He Is
out of the city at Bedlaa and hla In-
tentions aa to rebuilding will not be
known until he returns.
