Conservative Play
Loses Set for East

The bidding was the same at
both tables in this team match, as
was the early play. East was al-
lowed to hold the first spade trick.
South won the second artd knock-
ed out West's ace of cluba. A third
spade lead tooK fare of'South's
second stopper and South cashed
the clubs, stopping in his own
hand.
East had to make two discards.
At table one E^st let 150 two dia-
monds. Noiw South could have tak-
en four diamond tricks, but unfor-
tunately he wasn't looking at the
enemy's cards and chose to take
a-diamond finesse. East made his
queen of diamonds and two more
spades for down one. "\ '
At the other table East was
much more conservative. He let
one diamond and one spade go.
South thought things over care-
fully an^ decided that East was
hanging on to two heats including

ed at an Easter party.Tuesday at
the church. ,
The group attended dressed for
a tacky costume contest. Judged
as winners by the Rev. John R
Webb were Margaret Babin and
John Henry Deason.
An Easter egg hunt on the
church lawn provided added enter-
tainment. Assisting were Mrs. El-
vin Deason and Mrs. Robert Bris-
ter, coleaders. their husbands, and
the Rev. Webb.
Refreshments of punch, candy
and a cake decorated in the Eas
ter theme were served after the
nunt.
