these rumors
No Cyclone Predicted.
A good deal of talk is going
around about an alleged proph
esy that "Abilono will bo . blown
I away by a pyolono abbut tho
mtw or April" the sonooi omi-
dren especially having heard tho
report with considerable dismay.
The rumor is that the prophe-
sy is made "by the man who
prodioted the Ci
the Galveston si
We Want to say
are disturbed by
that nobody prophesied the two
disasters named'r-until af tor they
came exoept the weather bu-
reau which reported the Galves-
ton storm coming though no
suoh 'a calamity was expeoted
for itwas not known that the
wind could come from both land1
and sea and center on Galveston.
No one knows anything about
a oyolone two weeks or one week
or three days .before it gathers
and while a storm period can be
fairly foretold it may. take the
shape of rain or wind or a big
ohange in temperature
Cyolonio conditions exist a
'dozenftmetf.where one cyclone re
ally comes. A dozen oyclories
may pass over a district and not
reaoh the earth. A oyolone may
not be fifty yards wide or it may
hit the ground only a short .dis-
tance at a place and then never
hit.a house.
D'eVoe perhaps the best wea
ther prophet we have basing his
guesses upon the relations of the
planets to the earth and to each
other said in December that
March would be the worst storm
month vt the year and it Was
bad.
Of April he says: "This month
will enter cold and wet and it
did but April as a whole will-
.be a pleasant month" exoept for
heavy rains. He-adds: "On
April 28th. a rain storm will .form
over Texas and move northeast
ward causing- a cola wave over'
the northern states and heavy
rains over the South Atlantic andl
Gulf States" No oyclone pre-
dicted there.
Good "Spirits

have good spirits and a bad liv-

must be in: a fine condition if you
would feel buoyant happy and

your pursuits. ' You can put
"your liver in fine oonditibn by
