CRY OF AN UNBORN BABE
Joe F. Edwards
Whirl, ye depths of that womb,
Whirl thyself into being
For thou art the fruit of heaven.
Kick again, for the anguish lies before thee.
Clench thy tiny fist and make it known.
Turn from side to side and thank thy God
That thou art yet unborn.
What lies before thee, babe?
Jerk thy tiny knee and I will tell thee:
Thou art entring a world of hate
Where men shall look upon thee
And curse thee for existing.
My tears flow for thee, thou unborn babe.
Thine existence will torment thee
And tear they soul to shreds.
Men shall look upon thee and spit
And laugh and spit again.
Men shall attack thee and spill thy blood
Upon thine own path
And cause thine eyes to roll with pain.
