Fireworks Ordinance
To Be Enforced
The Fourth of July is upon us again and all
of the celebrating that goes with it, also, fire-
works used to he included. This is not so any-
more as fireworks have been banned by many
cities all over the nation.
We do want to call your attention to the
Sachse city ordinance No. 158: the part that
includes FIREWORKS.
It shall be unlawful for any person to store,
to offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail,
or use or EXPLODE any fireworks within the
City limits of Sachse.
Definition of fireworks shall mean and in-
clude any combustible or explosive composi-
tion and shall include blank cartridges, toy
pistols, toy cannons, toy canes or toy guns
in which explosives are used, firecrackers,
torpedoes, sky rockets, model rockets, roman
candles, daygo bombs, sparkers or other devices
of like construction and any devices containing
any explosive substance.
The fire department will be enforcing the
ordinance and violation of the ordinance could
result in a fine of up to $200, for each offense.
Help prevent fires and complaints about the
offensive noise, abide by the City ordinances.
If a violation occurs in your neighborhood. . .

Deparment - 495-1133.

Wylie July Jubilee Festival
Plans for Wylie's July
Jubilee Festivities are being
made and many activities have
already been scheduled for the
event that starts July 19 and
continues through July 21.
Beginning Thursday, July
19, merchants in Downtown
Wylie will sponsor a three day
Sidewalk Sale. Thursday night
Gospel Singing will be in the
Post Office parking lot. Cake
and homemade ice cream will
be sold.
On Friday, the Sidewalk
Sale will continue along with
many other activities. Country
Western music will be played
by the Wylie Opry, and on
Saturday there will be a dif-
ferent activity every hour all
day. The 10 K Run will begin
at 8:00 A.M., Country Wes-
tern will be played during the
day, Parade will begin at 10:00
A.M., a Bake Contest will be
at 2:00 P.M. and Saturday
evening Battle of the Bands
will be at the Football
Stadium. The Catholic Church
will serve breakfast from 8:00
to 10:00 and Wylie Fire
Department will serve lunch.
