The mass meeting of Thursday af-
ternoon in this city resulted in pledges
for approximately 31CO.O0O or about .
40 per cent of the county's quota and !
the soliciting committees are now ;
busy converting these pledges into
actuai subscriptions. An official list
of the actual subscriptions -secured
yesterday appears it the end of this

paign is closed.
This evening there will be

principal "speakers. .Lieut. Peyton is
a Brown county lad who has jusl re-
